Fable by Adrienne Young Book Review

Fable by Adrienne Young Book Review

One of my top reads of 2020 and my most memorable read of 2020!

Adrienne Young returns with a lyrical and epic adventure that readers have come to love her for! Fable is the newest of her books and the first in a duology, and one of my favourite books of the year. I sailed through it in one sitting.

Fable has lost both of her parents and is left to fend for herself among thieves. She finds her place on a ship as a drudger. The characters of the ship’s crew were all well written and lent great support to this story. There was romance that was slow to build and not overpowering. I am excited to see where the love story goes in the second book. The gem mage part of Fable was fascinating, and I feel this first book just scratched the surface of that storyline. This book was full of adventure and never slowed down.

Adrienne Young has such a gift for writing lyrical stories full of amazing characters, fascinating storylines, cool powers, and nonstop adventures. You do not want to miss Fable! I cannot wait for Namesake (book 2) to come out. I see myself rereading this several times in the future. Fable has reached the ranks as one of my favourite young adult books of all time.

While I did receive an electronic advanced reader copy, I did preorder the book and audiobook. The cover art and design on the hardback are gorgeous. The audiobook was extremely well narrated. I cannot wait for Namesake!

Thank you, Wednesday Books, and St. Martin’s Press for my advanced reader copy. I received it through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.
